Run-Up has produced a report Your Service, Your Recovery which examines how mental health service users have been affected by the recent changes in mental health services in Redbridge as well as identifying the priorities for Service Users.

Paint The Town Red

The art exhibition held at Ilford Central Library in conjunction with ThinkArts - to celebrate world mental health week - was a great success with over 60 pieces of work on show.

Smoking Cessation Advisory Service

The Redbridge Resource Centre based in Ley Street is now offering a smoking cessation advisory and treatment service to all Redbridge mental health clients.

Question Your Local MP On Health Matters

On Friday 17th November from 2pm to 4pm, the Patient and Public Involvement Forum for Primary Care in Redbridge, is holding a question and answer session featuring local MPs - Mike Gapes and Lee Scott - at Ilford Community Centre, Eton Road, Ilford, IG1 2UE.

Core Arts- Crazy Cats 'N' Dogs Club

Core Arts is a charity that exists to promote freely and without prejudice, the artistic and creative abilities of people who experience severe and enduring mental health problems.

There are a wide range of different Core events throughout the year. For example, the Crazy Cats n Dogs Club - a variety night from London's underground poets, DJs and singer songwriters. PLUS PAs and late jam session on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at Chat's Palace, 42-44 Brooksby's Walk, Homerton, E9. From 7.30pm, free admission

New Personality Disorder Website

The Care Services Improvement Partnership, the Department of Health and the Home Office have launched the National Personality Disorder (PD) website. It is the first dedicated website to provide information, resources and learning opportunities on personality disorder and supports the development of the National PD Programme.

We Need to Talk

This report was commissioned by five leading mental health charities to make the case for greater access to psychological therapies on the NHS. We Need to Talk argues that evidence-based talking therapies such as cognitive behavioural therapy are as important for the nation's health as any cancer drug or surgical procedure. Evidence shows that they can help millions of people in the UK who experience common and severe mental health problems.

Mental Health, Destitution & Asylum Seekers

Asylum seekers are amongst the most marginalised and maligned members of our society, and none more so than those who, for whatever reason, have found themselves destitute and homeless. This report provides a welcome insight into their situation and, in particular, into their mental health needs.

Autism Friendly Screenings

These are movie showings especially for children and adults with autism and their family, friends and carers. The soundtrack is turned down a little and low lights are left on in view of the sensory sensitivities to sound and light some people have. There will also be free light refreshments after the screening.

Autism-Friendly Screenings are held at The Ritzy in Brixton, The Clapham Picturehouse and The Greenwhich Picturehouse. Tickets cost £2.00 for everyone.
