Safeguarding Adults

Description of Services:

Redbridge Adult Social Services and partner organisations are working to make life safer for adults who are most at risk of being abused, neglected, or exploited.

You can contribute to this work by being aware that abuse can happen. Some people are more vulnerable than others, and you can make a difference by:

  • asking what you can do to help
  • reporting any concerns you have

People who are most vulnerable are those who have a disability or an illness, and may be unable to look after themselves from being harmed.

Abuse can happen to anyone, anywhere, and can include emotional, physical, finicial or sexual abuse, as well as neglect and discrimination.

You should talk to someone you can trust if:

  • you are concerned that someone you know may be being abused
  • you yourself look after someone and at times get close to hurting that person
  • you are being abused
