Description of Services: |
The CMHT for Older People is a specialist multi-disciplinary mental health service which is available to be consulted about, treat and provide intervention into the most common mental health disorders in older people. The team provides assessment and on-going community support to people over 65 who reside in the London Borough of Redbridge. Being made up of Community Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, a Physiotherapist and Support Staff, our aim is to significantly improve the health and social functionality of people with mental illness, and support them to live in an environment of their choice for as long as possible. The team also has a Carers Co-ordinator to support carers of people with functional mental health problems and three Admiral Nurses to support carers of people with dementia. |

We offer an open referral system but advise that all referrals go via the GP to rule out any physical cause. |
